SURREY – A missing Indian man is now presumed dead or murdered as Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) takes over the investigation into the disappearance of 25-year-old Navdeep Dhaliwal, who has been missing since mid last week.
Dhaliwal, who allegedly came to BC from Ontario to be with a girl or try his luck with her, was allegedly shot, cut up into pieces by a group of men and one woman, according to social media posts and amateur newsmen on tik tok.

Police have not said so far whether Dhaliwal is dead or alive – only that IHIT, which usually gets involved in murder investigations, has taken over the case.
Surrey Police Service (SPS) said Monday that the missing person’s investigation was being turned over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) because of evidence indicating that the Dhaliwal’s disappearance is suspicious in nature.
On April 30 at approximately 10:45 pm, Surrey Police Service responded to a missing person report. For Navdeep Dhaliwal, who was last seen by associates the previous day.
He maintained regular contact with friends and family and therefore even this seemingly brief period without contact was highly unusual.

SPS Serious Crime Unit assumed responsibility for this investigation and because of evidence gathered, there are indications that Dhaliwal’s disappearance is suspicious. For this reason, IHIT was engaged and has been deployed.
IHIT said due to the suspicious nature surrounding Dhaliwal’s disappearance, they were deployed and has since assumed conduct of the investigation.
SPS said no further information will be provided at this time and added that further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
IHIT said it continues to work in partnership with the SPS Serious Crime Unit and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) to determine the whereabouts of Dhaliwal.

“Investigators are actively examining the last places he was seen, canvassing the neighbourhood and speaking with his family, friends and coworkers,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “We are working diligently to follow the evidence and it is crucial that those with information about Mr. Dhaliwal to come forward to speak to investigators.
“It is important to not spread speculation or jump to conclusions at this time. Investigators remain in contact with Mr. Dhaliwal’s family and continue to work tirelessly to get to the truth of what happened.”
Anyone with information regarding this investigation can call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
