VANCOUVER – Aren (Arenjit Singh) Bahia, the owner and founder of a conscious arts tattoo shop, who turned his former criminal life around to become a successful entrepreneur has tragically died from a medical condition while in Bali.

Friends and family as well as the Vancouver tattoo community is mourning Bahia’s untimely passing.

Bahia, the founder and owner of Conscious Arts Tattoo Shop, was known for his artistic mastery and his boundless energy and his passing is a heartbreaking loss to those who knew him, but his legacy is sure to live on.

Bahia wasn’t just a tattoo artist; he was a leader who built a business grounded in purpose and intention. His shop, Conscious Arts Tattoo, was more than a place to get inked — it was a sanctuary for those seeking personal expression and meaningful transformation through art. His approach to tattooing was rooted in mindfulness, with every design telling a personal story and helping people embody their values and experiences in a permanent way.

Bahia was a multifaceted individual who was also deeply involved in wellness, personal growth, and martial arts. He co-founded The Yogi Lab, a wellness center promoting mindfulness and physical health, and he also established Karma House Bali, a space that emphasized spirituality and community.

In addition, his dedication to physical fitness was reflected in his time spent as a martial arts instructor at Franco Kickboxing and Pankration, where he taught discipline, focus, and perseverance.

Caitlin Thompson, one of his close colleagues, expressed her shock and grief, sharing that Bahia’s infectious energy, humor, and creativity made him unforgettable. His ability to connect with people, whether through his tattoos or his personal relationships, was unmatched.

While his passing represents the end of an era for Conscious Arts Tattoo Shop, his legion of friends and followers says the impact Aren Bahia had on those who knew him will endure. His unique blend of creativity, humor, and mindfulness made him a beloved figure in Vancouver’s artistic community, and his spirit will continue to inspire future generations of tattoo artists and wellness advocates alike.

“REST IN PEACE, BROTHER!” An Eulogy By Kal Dosanjh, VPD Officer And Founder of KidsPlay

Aren Bahia was one in a million. In his early years, he was influenced by the wrong people, and he fell in line with bad company. He was attracted to the cars, money, clubs, jewellery and the money. He wanted to emulate the ‘scarface’ lifestyle, and glorify living life on the edge. But that glory comes at a cost.

Realizing he’s in too deep, he left Vancouver for Bali. It was there that he opened a tattoo shop, and began his journey of self discovery. He struggled to reclaim himself by sifting past all the layers of trauma, suffering and dysfunction. His transformation was slow and organic. Whether it was meditation classes or counseling sessions, he was working hard towards finding meaning.

His progress came to a screeching halt after a motorcycle accident almost claimed his life. While lying in the hospital with serious injuries, his near brush with death took him even deeper in his quest to seek purpose. He realized his life story carried a moral lesson that he could share with others. His emotional scars were no less deep than the ones from the accident. He moved back to Vancouver and began his podcast, “Ink, Pray and Love”; a name that captured his entire story in 3 words. It was in this part of his journey that I met him, and we became close friends.

Aren passed away two weeks ago in Bali. He will be remembered as a caring, kind and humble person, who had a heart of gold. Rest in Peace brother.

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever before.
