SAMOSA CANDIDATE: Pierre Poilievre still has no security clearance and there are strong allegations that he’s a “Samosa Candidate” (The Manchurian Candidate) for India. Globe and Mail just came out with a story this week on CSIS allegations against Poilievre that he was helped by India to win his 2022 leadership race. People are finding Poilievre’s claims that he doesn’t need security clearance cause he had decades ago a bit shady and untrustworthy. He said he doesn’t need security clearance as he had it decades ago when he was a minister in the Stephen Harper government. But that’s ridiculous as security must be sought again under parliament rules but he thinks people are stupid and that’s could be his biggest downfall.

Despite polls putting Liberals under newly-minted leader Mark Carney in majority territory – the federal election race is much closer as Canadians prepare to vote on April 28.
It could change as campaign ramps up and a key factor will be how the front runners perform but there’s no doubt the Conservatives have catching up to do as their leader has been riding slogans that are now useless so he really has to convince Canadians that he’s not a Trump puppet.

And don’t count out NDP leader Jagmeet Singh ramping up his game after NDP support fell recently. Singh is a great campaigner so I see him bringing their base support back to the party but he will have to get the party to win 15 seats for another potential Kingmaker role in what I see as another minority Liberal government. But it could also be a minority Conservative govt.

The Canadian Press reported March 25 that 44 percent of decided voters surveyed by Leger poll say they would vote Liberal in the upcoming election, ahead of the Conservatives at 38 percent. The NDP is in a distant third at six per cent.
The poll also showed 48 percent of those surveyed think the Liberals are going to win the election, compared with 31 per cent who said the Conservatives would.
They’re calling this the most important federal election after a long time given Donald Trump idiocy and threats against Canada’s sovereignty, so Canadians are also prepared to deliver a majority mandate either to Liberals or Conservatives as they wait to see which front running party leaders has the magical formula to do what is needed in these turbulent economic times. Right now Carney definitely has the edge!
