In a shooting Monday night in Surrey that left one person in critical condition has now turned into a homicide investigation as the victim has died.

 On November 29, 3:00 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a shooting in a residence in the 9600 block of 135 Street.  Frontline officers attended and located a 45-year-old male with life threatening injuries. The male victim was transported to the hospital and received medical treatment; however, he died of his injuries on November 30.

SURREY – In a shooting Monday night in Surrey that left one person in critical condition has now turned into a homicide investigation as the victim has died.

 On November 29, 3:00 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a shooting in a residence in the 9600 block of 135 Street.  Frontline officers attended and located a 45-year-old male with life threatening injuries. The male victim was transported to the hospital and received medical treatment; however, he died of his injuries on November 30.

Based on the investigative theory in this initial phase, this incident appears to be a targeted act. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP Major Crime Section.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
