Surrey RCMP said the shooting that has sent one person to hospital. Although he hasn’t been identified by police by name, his name was all over whatsapp where he was identified as a well known Indo-Canadian with a nickname as “Shorty”.

SURREY – An Indo-Canadian man was shot in brazen daylight shooting on Scott Road as the border of Surrey-Delta last Friday which was captured on video.
Surrey RCMP said the shooting has sent one person to hospital. Although he hasn’t been identified by police by name, his name was all over whatsapp where he was identified as a well known Indo-Canadian with a nickname as “Shorty”.
On February 2 at 1:33 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of shots fired in the 8400 block of 120 Street. Frontline officers attended the scene and located a man who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
At approximately 2:07 p.m., Surrey RCMP were notified of a vehicle fire in the 9900 block of 179 Street. Further investigation is required to link the two incidents.
Road closures are currently in effect northbound from 84 Avenue to 82 Avenue and eastbound 120 Street to 122 Street. Police are asking the public to take alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit (GIU) has conduct of both investigations and are in the evidence gathering phase.
