Surrey continues to see shootings as shots rang out in Bear Creek park with the incident leading to a male attending hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. On March 20 at approximately 6:00 am, SPS officers responded to a call of shots fired around Bear Creek Park near the 13700 block of 88 Avenue. Police searched areas of the park and nearby residences. At approximately 6:30 am hospital staff contacted SPS to advise that a male had arrived in emergency with a gunshot wound.

SURREY – Surrey continues to see shootings as shots rang out in Bear Creek park with the incident leading to a male attending hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

On March 20 at approximately 6:00 am, SPS officers responded to a call of shots fired around Bear Creek Park near the 13700 block of 88 Avenue. Police searched areas of the park and nearby residences. At approximately 6:30 am hospital staff contacted SPS to advise that a male had arrived in emergency with a gunshot wound.

The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

SPS investigators will be interviewing the apparent victim and Frontline officers will continue gathering evidence and identifying the specific location where this shooting may have taken place.

This incident is not connected to extortion and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
