A woman pedestrian is dead and the driver is in custody after a fatal accident in Surrey. SURREY – A woman pedestrian is dead and the driver is in custody after a fatal accident in Surrey.

The intersection of 108th Ave between 133 Street and University Drive was shut down due to the serious collision.

On Sunday, September 18th, at about 1:05 am, Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a traffic incident in which a female was struck. The female victim did not survive her injuries. The driver is in police custody.

The integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service has been called to assist the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision investigation Team with the investigation.

Traffic in the area will be affected for an undetermined amount of time as officers continue their investigation. A road closure is in effect for 108th Ave between 133rd Street and University Drive. The public are requested to avoid the area until further notice.
