SOUTH VANCOUVER – The Consulate General of India in Vancouver celebrated Vishwa Hindi Diwas on January 9 at the Fraserview Banquet Hall.
More than 225 people including from Hindi Schools, Hindi Associations, Cultural organizations and Hindi language enthusiasts took part in the celebrations. The program kicked off with the reading out of the message from the Prime Minister of India on the occasion and included Hindi speeches on different topics, dialogues, poetry recitation, renditions and cultural programs.
Consul General Masakui Rungsung spoke about the importance of Hindi to connect us with our culture and heritage and also thanked the Diaspora and cultural organizations towards working for the promotion of Hindi in Canada.
