ABBOTSFORD – The latest extortion shooters targeted a home in Abbotsford where a couple of weeks ago an Indo-Canadian businessman was killed but apparently his killing was not extortion related.
Early Tuesday morning, a house in the city’s West Clearbrook neighbourhood was shot up.
The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) says it responded to reports of shots outside a home on Janzen Street near South Fraser Way around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday.

“Upon arrival, officers found two unoccupied vehicles parked in a residential driveway that had been struck by gunfire. Thankfully, the occupants inside the home—who were asleep at the time—were unharmed,” said a police statement.
The AbbyPD describes the incident as “targeted” and related to an ongoing extortion investigation.
Sources said that this shooting is linked to another targeted shooting at an Abbotsford business on King Road, reported CityNews.
Callers report that certain roads in the area have been closed to traffic as police investigate.
Investigators are asking anyone with information or video of the incident to contact the AbbyPD at 604-859-5225.
