SURREY –United Surrey released its first 100-Days-in-Office Action Plan once elected. The Plan contains the following commitments:
A one-year tax freeze;
3-day application review time-frame for renovations;
Official Ottawa and Victoria meetings with federal and provincial governments to discuss housing, transit and policing training and staffing funding commitments;
A new three-tier citizen response integrated unit (law enforcement, mental health, by-law officers)
Three-day issuance of temporary business licenses while the site/business inspection is pending;
Immediate forensic audit of all City of Surrey development applications made under the previous administration (to safeguard against impropriety and insider deals);
Online access for all submitted and pending development proposals;
New guideline requiring City Council approval for all public-tender contracts over $10,000.
With 10 days until the election, it is important for Surrey residents to have policy proposals that are not only based upon realistic planning, costing and implementation plans, but also that make a positive impact in the lives of Surrey residents.
“Duelling proposals from other campaigns are based on pure fantasy that does nothing to help voters in making an informed decision,” says United Surrey candidate Sukh Dhaliwal. “United Surrey’s 100-Days-in-Office Action Plan is a roadmap that is tangible, realistic and implementable, which will have immediate impact on the lives of Surrey residents.”
