The victim Dilpreet Singh was the 26-year-old and his friends are asking for donations to help get him to his family back home.
On the fundraiser’s page, Singh’s elder sister, Harpreet Kaur, shared the news of his passing.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share this news of the sudden demise of our beloved Dilpreet Singh. Dilpreet was my younger brother. As many of you know Dilpreet held a special place in our lives and touched the heart of everyone,” the page reads.
Kaur goes on to say that Singh came to Canada in 2015.
“The family is in no stable condition to hold his funeral/rites as he was the only financial support for the family,” she wrote.
“The support will be used towards sending him to his loved ones back home.”
