A young female student was tragically killed during an outing to Kelowna when a tree fell on her during a recent storm. Rittika Rajput, 22, died on December 7 when a tree fell on her during a sudden windstorm near a recreation site near Kelowna. Rittika and her friends were enjoying themselves around a bonfire near the James Lake Recreation Area when a large tree broke at its base and came crashing on them. Rittika got trapped under the branches of the tree while the others managed to flee. Police confirmed the unfortunate incident to the media. A source told DESIBUZZCanada that Rittika worked 2 or 3 shifts in a downtown building as a cleaner. He believes that money from the Go-Fund may go towards her $25,000 LMI cost which she bought from the employer and the rest may go towards covering the cost to send the body to India.

SURREY – A young female student was tragically killed during an outing to Kelowna when a tree fell on her during a recent storm.

Balwinder (Bob) Heer called Rittika “a kind hearted and hard working young woman.”

“Rittika was not only a loving daughter but a caring sister to her siblings. Coming from a low income family, her mother, Kiran Rajput, worked day and night stitching clothes for people to make their ends meet. Kiran also took out a loan of thousands of dollars for Rittika to send her to Canada and pay her educational fees. This unforeseen accident has left Rittika’s parents shattered and struggling to cope with this devastating loss.”

He added: “Kiran, who is already under debt, does not have the funds to bring Rittika’s body back to Punjab, so that she can carry out the funeral rites according to their customs and wishes. This campaign will also help pay off Rittika’s educational debt, legal costs, and other unforeseen financial challenges. As a community we have the opportunity to come together and support Rittika’s mother in their time of need. Your generosity, kindness, and prayers will make an immeasurable difference to Rittika’s mother.”

But a source told DESIBUZZCanada that Rittika worked 2 or 3 shifts in a downtown building as a cleaner. He believes that money from the Go-Fund may go towards her $25,000 LMI cost which she bought from the employer and the rest may go towards covering the cost to send the body to India.

“It’s very sad and it’s tragic what happened to this poor girl,” the Source told DESIBUZZCanada. “I don’t believe in donating to any Go-Fund as it’s basically a scam to make commission off someone else’s misery. Percentage goes to go-fund and the person who sets up may get commission and it’s never known how much goes to the victim’s family. This is sad and cruel profiteering!”

“It’s very sad how all these students are dying here and Canada is pulling them to their death!”
