The Original badass Jatt returns in high form in a top international level Pakistani production with The Legend Of Maula Jatt, a film that is a must-see for lovers of bloody, vengeful and gruesome tales like The Game of Thrones.

If you always wanted to know who Jatts – the brave, crazy, vengeful, stubborn and those who always stand against injustice and never back down from a good fight- are? Then this spectacular production that holds no punches and lets out blood to fill a river might be your ticket to the world of Jatt-dom. The film is not for everyone and especially not for children. 

The film also goes much more deeply into Jattdom than most Jatt themed films and does a better job then even the original Pakistani Maula Jatt films of the 1970s and their inferior copies by Punjabi cinema in Punjab by giving the audience a full introduction to the time and place where Jatts originated. 

Combining myth-making and legend, Maula Jatt is a run-of-the mill revenge story that you see from Hollywood-Bollywood-Tollywood but the technical and cinematic execution and standout performances push the film to an instant classic. 

What makes the film really standout is that the story is set in the old Punjab of when Jatts like the Natt clan and their arch-enemy of Maula ruled the ancient Punjab. The filmmakers have spent considerable resources and assembled top talent like Fawad Khan as Maula Jatt, Mahira Khan as Mukho Jatti, Hamza Ali Abbasi as Noori Natt and Humaima Malik as Daro Nattni, all of whom and in fact the entire cast deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience.

The top notch production written and directed by Bilal Lashari rivals anything in the international film arena. The film does a good job showing the ferocity of Jatts and what this particular clan’s values and culture represented, which is that they do not back down from anyone in a story of that is basically about rival clans where Maula, the son, must avenge his family’s murder at the hands of the powerful Natt clan.

 Jatts in the old times were defined by their Gandasa (sharp axe like weapon) and that is what Maula Jatt uses to seek justice. While there have been numerous Maula Jatt films made in Pakistan in the past but The Legend of Maula Jatt is the original telling of the story, set in the time when the legend actually happened. 

In recent times, there has been a lot of criticism of Jatt oriented songs and the general pride that this clan shows but Jatts like the Scottish warriors, the Vikings, the Mongols and the clans portrayed in the fictitious The Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, are well deserving of all their glory, their flaws and ruthlessness because they never back down and fight till the death over big or small things! 

The film is a parable that you are free to choose to mess with Jatts but be warned that they will bring the fight right to your door because no matter what happens they will not forget and never let you forget
