SURREY – The RCMP say officers responded to shots fired on 152nd Street just after midnight.
Police say a male with a gunshot wound was found at the scene and rushed to hospital.
There was no immediate word on his condition.
According to a Surrey RCMP news release, police were called to the 10100-block of 152 Street at approximately 12:10 a.m. for reports of shots fired.
“Upon arrival, officers located evidence confirming a shooting had taken place,” RCMP said in the release. “Police located one male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The male has been transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.”
A white Ferrari, parked in front of an optometry office in The Boardwalk mall, was riddled with bullet holes. Ferrari had at least three bullet holes in its windshield and at least one in the hood. The driver’s side window was also blown out.
The area was taped off by police and the vehicle was surrounded by a dozen orange pylons, which usually signify bullet casings.
Mounties say the investigation is in its early stages, but they believe the victim was targeted.
