SURREY – A hit and run driver is sought in Surrey after he/she hit a pedestrian and drove away.
Surrey RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian that occurred on Sunday in the Newton area of Surrey.
On September 11, at approximately 2100 hours, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a hit and run, pedestrian motor vehicle collision in the 7200 block of King George Boulevard. A silver sedan was south bound on King George when it struck a pedestrian, who was crossing the street between the intersections. The subsequent collision resulted in the vehicle sustaining obvious front end damage, likely to the right bumper.
The 40 year old female pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and is described as a silver sedan, possibly a Honda, last seen travelling south bound on King George.
Police resources are currently on scene, canvassing for witnesses and video. Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage in the area of King George Boulevard and 72nd avenue, between 2045 hours and 2115 hours, is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2022-128137.
