SURREY – While the police released the Indo-Canadian realtor-developer arrested in the murder of local filmmaker Manbir “Mani” Amar in a fight described as a elevated dispute between neighbours, Amar’s family is sharing their loved one’s memories.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said they are continuing to investigate Wednesday’s incident which led to Amar’s murder but no charges have been laid so far.
A man was arrested on scene. At this time, no charges have been laid and the man has been released from custody as the investigation continues.
On August 31, 2022, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a physical altercation between two neighbours in the 14100-block of 61 Avenue, Surrey. Officers attended the scene and located Manbir “Mani” Amar suffering life-threatening injuries. Sadly, Amar died on scene.
IHIT took conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely in partnership with the Surrey RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).
