One person is dead after a fatal vehicle collision in the Indo-Canadian Newton area of Surrey. Surrey RCMP said that the fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Newton early Friday morning did not involve a pedestrian as initially reported by police but the deceased person was an occupant of the involved vehicle.

SURREY – One person is dead after a fatal vehicle collision in the Indo-Canadian Newton area of Surrey.  

Surrey RCMP said that the fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Newton early Friday morning did not involve a pedestrian as initially reported by police but the deceased person was an occupant of the involved vehicle.

On December 15 at 2:39 am, the Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 7300 block of 138 Street. One person was declared deceased on scene and an additional person was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Based on initial observations and the report received by police, the deceased person was believed to have been a pedestrian. Through further investigation it has been determined that the deceased person was actually a passenger who was ejected from the vehicle.
