Suresh Kumar Goyal – May 16, 1944 – May 31, 2022
It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father Suresh Kumar Goyal on May 31, 2022, at the age of 78 years in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Our father was the main pillar and patriarch of our whole family and lived an exemplary life guided by the highest of morals, values, and principles. Words are not enough to describe our deep sense of loss. He is survived by his loving wife, his affectionate children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Suresh was born in Moga, Punjab, India on May 16, 1944, and immigrated to Canada in 1972 with little resources but an incredible work ethic and a determination to succeed in his adopted country. For the next 50 years, Suresh devoted his life to his family, his business, and his community. His passion was his business Goyal Travels Inc. which he opened in Vancouver, B.C. in 1972 and served the Indo-Canadian community for the next 50 years till his last days. Many lives were touched by his integrity and generosity of spirit. He devoted countless hours and donated generously to various temples and charities in British Columbia.
He was a life-long vegetarian who lived by his Dharmic principals of peace, tolerance, and respect for all living creatures. He taught and instilled in us eternal values of education, work ethic, honesty, integrity, and family unity.
It was an honour to have met him, a privilege to have known him, and truly a blessing to call him our father. We are grateful for the thoughts and prayers that have been shared with us and express our heartfelt thanks to all family and friends. We will forever miss him and cherish his memories every moment of every day.
