Well known Indo-Canadian social activist, business leader and philanthropist Balwinder Singh Chahal passed away recently and was given cremation and final rites on Friday, June 10.
“I’m saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend Balwinder Chahal. I want to extend my condolences to his wife Manjeet Chahal, his family and friends,” MLA Jagrup Brar wrote in a tribute to Chahal.
“Balwinder dedicated much of his life fighting for people, including, immigrant seniors facing systematic barriers for their pension rights, small businesses and Indian farmers fighting against the Three Farm Acts. He leaves behind a powerful legacy and we must continue that work moving forward.
“He was a very beautiful human being, always humble, caring, respectful and thoughtful when dealing with people.
“My sincere thanks to Balwinder for his unconditional support and valuable advice to me during the last two decades of our friendship. He will be missed deeply,” Brar wrote.
