SURREY – A missing 18-year-old Indo-Canadian girl from Surrey, who has not been seen since December 4, still has not been found as family’s worries mount.

Harsimar Malhi, who was last seen on December 4, 2024, was affectionately known as “Simar” by her family and friends. She was reported missing after she left her residence between 4-5 p.m. to visit SFU Surrey Central.

Harsimar was observed driving a black Acura with license plate #VB703C and was wearing a black windbreaker at the time of her disappearance.

Harsimar’s father, Gurdeep Singh Malhi, disclosed that she had maintained minimal communication with her family prior to her phone being disconnected, which exacerbated her anxiety.

Additionally, her father is anxiously anticipating her safe return, as is her immediate family, which comprises her mother and a younger sibling.

Harsimar is described as standing at a height of 5’3″ and having hazel eyes. Her disappearance has garnered widespread attention as a result of her father’s social media appeal, which has been shared over 2,100 times as of the time of writing.

Police continue to search for Harsimar but a close family acquaintance recently expressed concern on social media that she may have passed away.

“She was taken so soon,” the family friend wrote.

This has further exacerbated the escalating anxiety of Harsimar’s family.

However, this claim has not been corroborated by any official statement from her father or the police.

Harsimar’s family and community continue to hold out hope as strong community support has been mobilized to pursue Harsimar’s whereabouts.

Local organizations, community members, and acquaintances have been enhancing her father’s appeal by coordinating awareness campaigns and sharing posts. The family has expressed their gratitude for the support and is confident that the information provided will be beneficial in locating her.

Anyone with information is asked to please call Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2025-1382 (SP) or 2025-939 (SU), or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca if you wish to remain anonymous.
