Legendary Bollywood and international icon and film star Kabir Bedi was in Surrey recently to attend a function for Indus, a local non-profit group, in celebration of April as Sikh Heritage Month. Bedi also appeared in a short film written and directed by Steven Purewal of Indus about a Sikh soldier who fought in the Great Wars for the Commonwealth. The film was funded largely through a grant by the Canadian government.  DESIBUZZCanada editor-publisher R. Paul Dhillon had a chance to talk to the great man who is still a magnificent human being and a real gentleman. “We talked about his film career in India and abroad, especially his stellar work in Italy, where he’s a household star after appearing in numerous Italian productions. He was delighted when I told him I have made two films with Gulshan Grover and wanted to know more. I also told him I loved him as the James Bond villain in Octopussy,” Dhillon told DESIBUZZCanada.

Octopussy starring Roger Moore as James Bond was set in India and also featured Indian tennis great Vijay Amritraj .
