TORONTO – An Indian food delivery driver who was brutally beaten and robbed of his in Mississauga more than one week ago has died and the fatality is now being investigated as a homicide, police say.
Peel Police said on Monday afternoon the victim — identified as Gurvinder Nath, 24, of Brampton — died on Friday after being hospitalized last Sunday.
Cops said the victim was working in the Britannia Rd.-Creditview Road area at 2:10 a.m. Upon arrival at a delivery address, police say the victim was “confronted by unknown suspects who attempted to take his vehicle when a physical altercation occurred.”
The unknown suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, leaving the victim at the side of the road with life-threatening injuries, police said.
