Hindi Literary Society of Canada has been promoting and popularizing Hindi language and literature since 1968 in Canada. It has been organizing workshops, seminars, conferences, poetry recital sessions and children’s competitions to elevate awareness about Hindi.

This year Hindi Bal Pratiyogita (Children’s Competition) was organized, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India under -India@75 Celebration- Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, on May 23,2021 virtually. Harish Masand, President of the Society welcomed the guests and Manish Grover (Consul) appreciated the HLSOC for advancing Hindi.

There were three categories I. Group -under 9 years, time limit 2 minutes.  II. Group under 12 years, time limit 2.5 minutes.III. Group under 15 years, time limit 3 minutes.  All were asked to memorize their prose or poetry presentation. The judges were Kanti Dwivedi, Suresh Kumar and Rajinder Kumar(Vice Consul). The student’s selection of poems and presentation was awesome.

Pushplata Sharma and Reshma Mishra were the MC of the event and they conducted it splendidly and charmingly. The students who came First, Second and Third, were given the cash prizes $100.00, $75. and $50. respectively.The prizes were sponsored by Bina Jain, Kanti Dwivedi and Pushplata Sharma. All others, who took part in the competition were given $40.00 each (Donated by Madhu Varshney and Bina Jain).AnupaMasand is a valuable- asset to Society who helps in  preparing the poster and providing technical support. Acharya Dwivedi, the founder president of the Society, thanked all.
