SURREY – The local Hindu community is upset with a BC business using Ganesh’s image on their logo with the business geared towards adults.

Numerous community organizations, individuals, and temples gathered on Jan 29 to discuss and outline an action plan about what they say is a shocking insult to Lord Ganesh by ‘Big Dick Energy Coaching’ (Website: https://bigdickenergycoaching.com ) which is using Ganesh’s image as its logo not only on the website but all across digital media including podcast platforms like Anchor FM.

Coordinated by Vedic Hindu Cultural Society and Laxmi Narayan Temple, the Hindu community of Lower Mainland campaign wants to share our concern with the local government, federal government, and media that this act of a local business is veiled attack on Hindu identity, it is racist and cultural appropriation.

“We urge those in govt to take appropriate action against the business and ensure that this bigotry is nipped in the bud. If no action is taken now, it will lead to many such future insults, which will imperil the safe existence ofHindu community across Canada,” they said in a press release.

Hindu community is outraged that in a Multicultural and multiracial country like Canada, a person or business can be so ill-informed as to appropriate identity of another religion to further its own monetary gains.

The Group said the business owner, Jasmine is adamant and wants to keep her logo even after community members pleaded with her on the phone and tried to inform her about the importance of Lord Ganesh in the Sanatan Dharam also known as Hinduism in The Western world.

They said Hinduism is not only followed by Indian origin people living in Canada but is also followed and practiced by immigrants from Nepal, Fiji, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and many more. There are approximately, 497000 Hindus across Canada, who have been contributing to the nation building and it is the duty of the governments at all levels to ensure that Hindu community feels safe in living, working, and raising their families in Canada.

They added that Lord Ganesh represents knowledge, harmony and Hindu community is hopeful our MPs, and Federal Govt. will take necessary action to stop this Hindu hate immediately.
